as of 30 minutes ago… i am SO excited for the weezer concert tomorrow :P i’ll admit it! blue album is one of my all-time favorites (weezer was my first concert - but at the time i only knew green-ish stuff. wow! i remedied that and have seen them.. 3 more times since then?) and i’m super pumped to see them perform it in its entirety (followed by pinkerton on weds - YES. i still have a ticket i’m trying to sell for that one, in case anyone is interested..)
but back to blue album. you know how concerts just kick ass when you know the words to all the songs? (and when you still sing when it’s an instrumental section because you know the guitar parts?) well, i know the words (and guitar parts) to all the songs. i hadn’t listened to the album all the way through in awhile, but i just did.. and i’ve still got it! (ha). the opening to ‘my name is jonas’ never fails to makes me happy… my (high school) senior quote was lyrics from that song. i remember one time many years ago when i went to this silent movie with my dad…. and (sorry dad) i was so bored…. so i just sang the album all the way through in my head. ‘the world has turned and left me here’ is a great breakup song. i would play the opening bass line to ‘only in dreams’ over and over when i was trying to learn how to play guitar. i could go on… (and do the same for pinkerton. maybe i will tomorrow).
oh man. so excited.
