ahhhh get me back to boston already!!
i’ve been counting down the days, now that it’s under a week i’m hoping it will fly by. dare i say i am excited for my 5 flights back? (i know, crazy. two with no plane change at least..) i want to be back with friends and work and wmbr and concerts and my bed and dependable power and clean water and ice cream and cheese.
i love tanzania, but it’s been a struggle since the students left, for a bunch of reasons. and i’ve got a lot of things i want to accomplish back in cambridge this spring, and i’m anxious to get a start. at this point i’ve just kind of accepted that what i originally expected to do with my extra time is not happening, so i am just catching up on other work, and reading, and chatting with people, and having an ok time. a recent highlight was meeting this awesome female Tanzanian engineer who is now applying for IDDS. i really hope to work with her in the future, she’s smart and spunky and interested in getting other people (especially women) excited about designing and building.. woohoo!
i’ve got a community workshop tomorrow, probably staying with my homestay family sunday, maybe some meetings at the beginning of the week, and then flying out thurs afternoon!
